Went to Big Red for Sarah's birthday....

Bumped into Vicky & co there too :-)

Didn't meet any fairies (as far as I know) or strange men with an Ass's head..

DID, however, manage to lose the 4 people I'd invited back to mine, somewhere between Holloway Road & my house... lmao that's midsummer magic/confusion for you ;-)

Viking Val Talien had a baby girl on the 22nd Feb.. she's named Luthien & they're all extremely happy :-D

Much to my surprise & delight... no train problems :-)

Arrived around tea time Friday....drank in the Swan then on to the cinema to see Underworld 3 which was enjoyable..

Saturday... bit of culture involving the museum & lots of pretty fishies.. then pub with nice food, different kinds of cider :-) & meeting up with wuggy. Dominic & Hayley? arrived just after Wuggy sadly left us which meant he missed out on the Gay Bar..

Said Gay Bar was fun, boogied a bit & was trapped in converation for AGES by a guy telling me his life story whilst shouting out "You're gorgeous" to Maddy lol

Sunday morning involved sleeping briefly on the floor whilst Maddy's grandad tried to fix the boiler with a bag of tomatoes then sat down to a lovely roast dinner & amazing soup before heading to the train station for the journey home.

Liverpool, pubs, lovely pizza, evil british library librarians bent on world domination (apart from me), Wuggy's birthday & Maddy.

There you go, that sums it up ;-P

I've just received a letter from the school assuring us that none of the teens involved in the gun incident last week, attended, or had attended that school & that in future the gates would be closed at 3.45 instead of 4.30pm.

Well I feel SO much better now :-S

After Xara's school lessons finished today, 2 kids on a motorbike chased another kid up the ramp to the school, dumped the bike, then chased him into the school where he ran into a teacher's office to hide. The 2 kids chasing him had a shotgun & didn't seem to care who they pointed it at! Needless to say, the armed police squad arrived shortly after. None of them went to that school but the kid they were chasing knew people who went to the school & therefore knew the layout & obviously saw it as his only escape.....

FFS... I'm SICK of this shit happening!

This was our greeting message at the entrance to the Dr Who exhibition :-) Well... after I'd convinced the guy on the main door that I wanted to collect tickets for Dr Who NOT the natural medicine (or whatever it was) exhibition... do I look like a hippy? ;-P

The exhibition itself was organised into series 1, 2 & 3 with exhibits, costumes & props from the series. It's weird but some of them looked quite tacky up close in real life & others (which I hadn't previously thought scary, like the Slitheen & Cybermen) looked really scary lol

There was a blue screen with the TARDIS superimposed so you could "see" yourself inside it... if I ever figure out how to get pics from my phone onto lj I can show you...

For me, a really interesting part of the exhibition was the "making monsters" section which showed the creation of a "monster" (in this case an OOd)from conception to finish. It also had a section detailing costume design with the original sketches & fabric samples. :-)

Now to the scary bit... ok I was warned by a sign saying "Beware Daleks" but went onwards anyway.. I was waiting for Dalek Khan to turn round so I could get his pic when he turned and shouted in a loud surround-sound-type Dalek voice, "we have detected life forms.. we must EXTERMINATE them!".. or something to that effect... I'm still standing there but as another Dalek moves forward & turns to face me, I take a step back, then another.. & another Dalek appears suddenly on the other side & I'm afraid all my childhood Dalek fears came back & I backed quickly into the corner & tried to hide from them..much to Xara's amusement. It's also quite bad that I was hiding in front of Davros... but he was behind glass & NOT moving so that was ok ;-S Just goes to show how deeply these things sit in your subconscious lol I was brave enough to stand in front of them the second time they moved so hopefully I've been cured by desensitisation? lol

Anyway back to the monsters et al The angel from "Blink" was good & scary & so was the Robot Santa from "The Runaway Bride" in his casual daywear ie without the Santa mask & with a hooded robe.. & of course the Daleks :-D

I loved the costumes especially the ones from the future earth which I adored :-0

Erm I think that's about it for now.. unless I remember something I've forgotten ;-P

Jaz got AAB & is going to York University to study a joint honours in Philosophy/Sociology :-D

I got VERY, VERY wet whilst riding for 4 hours last Monday! Rather uncomfortable but great cross country MUDDY fun! :-)

ps Iceland update will appear soooon ... promise! Currently we are blaming my work colleague for the Icelandic Earthquake as he wanted me to bring rocks back for him. He has unbalanced Iceland and will need to throw the rocks back into the Rift to close it lol I DID warn him they may be cursed as apparently people have returned rocks after being unable to sleep ;-)

Had to work Saturday :-(

So made the most of Sunday :-)

Another pub ride which started off with Thor reminding us he was about! For some reason it ALWAYS thunders & starts to rain the second we start out lol

Was riding Lola

We didn't get too wet though as it didn't really rain after that. It was a good ride, galloping through the woods with blossom falling all around ... really magical :-D

Slight concern whilst passing a field with a sign saying "Beware, young Stallions!" & one of the aforementioned desperately trying to get past the fence after Lola (who is in season right now) but luckily it passed without incident :-)

Then afterwards just hung around the yard & met with Rob to eat in the cafe & watch horses in the school... really chilled day all in all :-D

Turns out he's playing a 'failed wizard' in the next Harry Potter film. I told him to look out for my friend Andrew (Bob) who's playing a "scary face" in the film lmfao!

Had jumping last night.Martini is so lovely to jump as she really enjoys it & is up for it :-D

Rode Harry last night, isn't he cute? He was very skittish though & a bit of a pain but offered me his straw afterwards as an apology lol

As for Easter, Went on a 3 & 1/2 hour pub ride on the Friday. This was after little sleep & a hangover due to going out after work to the Big Red on Thursday night & bumping into lots of people I hadn't seen for ages... great to see them all again though :-D The ride was extremely cold mostly due to the bitter winds & the poor horses were knackered when they got back. Excellent fun though & much galloping was had although 4 of the 9 of us had to return back to the stables within the first 1/2 hour due to falls or not controlling their horses.

Saturday was the dinner party. As always, Russell cooked the most amazing food & great fun was had by all (there are some very dodgy photos involving a very tacky dress & all of us trying it on at some stage ;-0)

Sunday was relaxation & recovery day then up early on Monday for another pub ride.... this time in the snow, wonderful :-D

Had a fantastic weekend, will update later if I have time...

Work is SHITE & I wish they'd all go back through the gates of Hell from whence they came!

Edit: just had a conversation with the lovely Neil Gaiman about his work & dog so I'm a happy bunny now. He has a new book coming out in November, "The Graveyard Book", & he's excited about it. He's such a lovely guy & made today better after the shit morning. There are some parts of my job I like

I have a chocolate eye from a huge chocolate bunny here at work & I thought Winston could maybe use it ;-)or maybe I'll just eat it!

Another has left the team, that's 10 (since we started less than 2 years ago)out of 23.... the job's THAT good :-P

& talking of horses, I had a beautiful ride on Tue on
Caffrey & the tutor was very pleased with me & said I had the ability to ride well any of the horses there :-D

Saturday, we went hacking but all the horses were a bit erm excitable, still fun though & I had Ginger

Saturday eve the banquet crew arrived for food, fun & frolics & it was wonderful to see everyone again. In fact we have to plan another visit lasting a bit longer than just one night :-)
